What is Semi-Permanent make-up?

Semi-Permanent Make-Up, also known as micropigmentation or permanent cosmetics, is a form of tattooing. Unlike traditional tattooing machines, cosmetic tattooing uses a lower frequency which gently applies perfectly matched pigments into the skin. This results in a softer, natural look which if left will fade to nothing after a few years.

Semi-Permanent make-up is available for eyebrows, lip enhancement and eyeliner.

Who is it for?

*  Anyone who wears make-up is a potential candidate for semi-permanent make-up although here are some of the most popular reasons…

*  If you lack colour and shape to your lips and want to enhance and add definition.

*  People who regularly pencil in your eyebrows and would like to give them a better shape or fill in sparse areas where they have been over plucked.

*  Those who love enhancing their eyes and want the effects of eyeliner without smudging!

*  Those who suffer from hair loss from various medical conditions.

The Process

Semi Permanent Make-Up is a two part process. Your first appointment will involve a thorough consultation with your artist to discuss your desired look. You and your artist will decide on the perfect shape, colour and definition and then the treatment can start.

During the tattooing process many liken the sensation to that of an electric toothbrush being held against the skin with minimal discomfort often said to be no worse than tweezing or threading. The tattoo process normally takes about one hour, but it varies from person to person depending on your individual requirements. After a brow treatment you should expect the area to look 40-50% darker than the colour you have chosen in consultation. This will start to fade after 7-10 days.

The area may be slightly red and swollen after but this should subside after 24 hours. Your skins surface generally heals between 3-7 days after the treatment, and it takes 14 days for the area to be fully healed below the surface. We will provide you with a balm to use every day to encourage healing.

A top up appointment is included in the price of your initial treatment and is usually booked 4 weeks later. This appointment allows for any finishing touches that may be required to adjust shape, color or density.

You will be given full aftercare guidelines to ensure the best results from your semi-permanent makeup after your treatment.
