Microblading is a form of permanent makeup that creates natural, beautiful eyebrows with a handheld microblade. It’s a perfect solution for those who have over plucked in past years, have sparse eyebrows or simply want to define and enhance their eyebrow shape.
The Microblading technique originates from Asia where it has been a popular technique for over 20 years where is has also been referred to as eyebrow embroidery, feather touch, microstroking and even “the Japanese Method.” In recent years microblading is becoming one of the most popular brow treatments available.
Microblading falls under the category of ‘micropigmentation’ and is technically a form of eyebrow tattooing, however unlike traditional tattooing which uses a machine, a microblading artist applies each hair stroke with a handheld microblade, producing a very fine line that resembles real hair. Every hair stroke is hand drawn and blended in with the client’s existing eyebrow hair creating a gorgeous and very realistic result.
Microblading takes two appointments to complete. In the first appointment, after a thorough consultation during which the client and artist agree on the perfect shape, the artist then completes the microblading process.
The second appointment is a colour touch up usually between 3-4 weeks after the first session. This allows enough time for the colour to settle into your skin and allow the artist to see how your skin has received the ink and make any necessary corrections and adjustments. These kinds of adjustments are normal with any microblading and are an essential part of the process, as everyone’s skin is different and receives ink differently.
